No shocking result in a game in Vilnius where second ranked Lietuvos Rytas (11-2) smashed 8th ranked Naglis-Adakris (5-9) 102-69. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos Rytas. Naglis-Adakris was better in second period 27-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietuvos Rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Naglis-Adakris' 38. They outrebounded Naglis-Adakris 40-17 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Lietuvos Rytas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for center Jonas Valanciunas (210-92) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Australian forward Brad Newley (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lietuvos Rytas' coach Aleksandar Trifunovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia, agency: FCM) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Chris Lowe (183-87, college: Massachusetts) added 11 points and 4 steals in the effort for Naglis-Adakris. Five Lietuvos Rytas and four Naglis-Adakris players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. Naglis-Adakris at the other side keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Perlas. Lietuvos Rytas will play against bottom-ranked Alytus Alita (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Naglis-Adakris will have a break next round.
