D League
Regular Season Round 56: Tulsa 66ers - Texas L. 112-96
Date: January 22, 2011
Despite seeing a 29-point fourth-quarter lead sliced to 10, Tulsa held off the Texas Legends 112-96 Saturday night in NBA D-League action at the Tulsa Convention Center, extending the 66ers' winning streak to 12 games. The streak matches the third longest in D-League history. Columbus (Ga.) also won 12 in a row during the 2004-05 season. "It's a credit to our guys working extremely hard every day," Tulsa head coach Nate Tibbetts said about his squad winning for the 12th consecutive time. The victory was also the 100th D-League coaching win for Tibbetts, who is now 47-29 in his second year with Tulsa. Before joining the 66ers, he went 53-47 in two seasons at Sioux Falls (S.D.). Led by Jerome Dyson's game-high 22 points, West Division-leading Tulsa (20-6) had seven players finish in double figures. Latavious Williams finished with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. Tulsa looked to have the game well in hand before the Legends (11-12) made things interesting in the final nine minutes. *Courtesy of www.tulsaworld.com
