No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Galil Gilboa (8-7) beat at home 7th ranked Hapoel Holon (5-9) 74-69 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-20. But Hapoel Holon won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for international power forward Ido Kozikaro (203-78) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Warren Carter (206-85, college: Illinois) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Robert Hite (188-84, college: Miami (FL)) came up with 22 points and 4 steals and the other American import forward Rich Melzer (203-79, college: Wisc.-RiverFal., agency: Court Side) added 17 points respectively for Hapoel Holon in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Holon lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Galil Gilboa will meet Elitzur Netanya (#8) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Holon will play against Maccabi Haifa and hope to secure a win.
