Regular Season Round 16: Asker Aliens - Gimle BBK 83-79

Leader Asker delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Gimle (4-10) 83-79. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gimle won third quarter 25-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Ronny Karlsen (202-78, college: Independence CC) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Asker's coach Inge Kristiansen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Stian Enge (190-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian-Austrian power forward Ivan Djerman (202-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 17 points in the effort for Gimle. Four Gimle players scored in double figures. Asker (12-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Gimle lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Kristiansand. Asker will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gimle's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bergen Ulriken.
