We should mention about the upset which took place in Lviv, where higher ranked Dnipro (14-13) lost to twelfth ranked Halychyna (9-20) in a road game 89-93. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 24-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Dnipro outrebounded Halychyna 37-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Alan Wiggins (206-84, college: USF) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Nick Williams (192-83, college: Cincinnati, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 14 points and 7 assists. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) did not help to save the game for Dnipro. Power forward Mario Austin (206-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Strategic Sports) added 18 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Halychyna maintains twelfth position with 9-20 record. Dnipro at the other side keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Halychyna's next round opponent will be higher ranked Azovmash (#4) in Mariupol and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
