Regular Season Round 61: Iowa E. - Rio Grande VV 138-119

Date: January 28, 2011
In a battle of two of the top teams in the NBA D-League, the Iowa Energy rolled up 138 points and snapped the Rio Grande Valley Vipers' winning streak at 10 with a 138-119 home decision on Friday. Iowa scored 41 points in the first quarter and had 75 by half time. The 75-62 lead at the break seemed solid. But, a third quarter push by the Vipers drew the locals within five points after 36 minutes. That was as close as the game would get as Iowa pulled away for the 19 point victory. Jeff Adrien was one of three Vipers to crack 20 points and led RGV scoring with 24. Connor Atchley scored six points for the Vipers in his first game since being traded by Iowa to the Valley. Iowa is now 20-and-7 and the Vipers 17-and-8 in D-League play. The two teams play again in Des Moines on Saturday night. *Courtesy of www.krgv.com
