Fourteenth-ranked ETB Wohnbau (4-14) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (10-7) in Essen on Friday. The visitors from Homburg managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. ETB Wohnbau trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 17-16 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 11-13. Saar-Pfalz Braves made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) scored 25 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Stephen Cramer (188-84, college: Hope (MI)) chipped in 16 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) with 25 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Saar-Pfalz Braves moved-up to sixth place. ETB Wohnbau lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Saar-Pfalz Braves will meet at home USC Freiburg (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ETB Wohnbau will play against Kirchheim Knights and hope to secure a win.
