Semi-Finals Game 2: Pioneros - Fuerza Regia 77-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cancun. First ranked Pioneros faced one of their biggest challengers Fuerza Regia. Host Pioneros (27-9) defeated guests from Monterrey (27-9) 77-68. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Fuerza Regia. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-12. But Fuerza Regia won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Pioneros won last quarter 23-16. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Rammel Allen (210-79, college: Bridgeport) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Gregory Grays (185-79, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points. Forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pioneros maintains first position with 27-9 record, which they share with defeated Fuerza Regia. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
