Regular Season Round 25: Toshiba BT - Panasonic T. 86-92

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kanagawa. 4th placed host Toshiba Thunders (12-13) lost to third ranked Panasonic Trians (17-8) 92-86. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Toshiba Thunders won third quarter 29-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panasonic Trians made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Kenji Sato (180-79) added 19 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Five Panasonic Trians and four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panasonic Trians have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Panasonic Trians will have a break next round. Toshiba Thunders will play again at home against Panasonic Trians (#3) in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
