Very important is a home loss of second ranked Energa Czarni (10-5) against fifth ranked Polpharma (9-6) on Sunday night. Host Energa Czarni was defeated by Polpharma in Slupsk 82-66. The game was mostly controlled by Polpharma. Energa Czarni was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Energa Czarni 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Energa Czarni was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Jerel Blassingame (177-81, college: UNLV) with 17 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Pawel Leonczyk (202-86, agency: Promotex) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polpharma have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Energa Czarni lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second position with five games lost. Polpharma will play against Anwil (#7) in Wloclawek in the next round. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Zastal (#6) in Zielona Gora and hopes to get back on the winning track.
