Regular Season Round 63: Santa Cruz W. - Sioux Falls S. 96-90

Renaldo Major scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the Dakota Wizards (9-20) to a 96-90 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (3-21) Sunday afternoon at the Bismarck Civic Center. The third quarter has been the demise for the Wizards all season long but not today. Trailing 42-38 at the break, the Wizards went on a 9-0 run to start the quarter and take a 47-42 lead with 9:07 left. Major scored 10 of his 23 points in the quarter and the Wizards outscored the Skyforce 30-15 in the quarter to take a 68-57 lead at the end of three. The Skyforce trailed by as many as 12 in the fourth but would cut the lead to 88-84 on a three-point play by Anthony Harris with 2:35 left in the game. After an injury to Hamady N’Diaye, Mickell Gladness would come off the bench to make two free throws and Renaldo Major knocked down a jump shot to extend the lead to 8 with 1:02 to play. Sioux Falls shot 60% from the field and outscored Dakota 33-28 in the quarter but the Wizards were perfect from the charity strip to secure the 96-90 victory. The Wizards won the game at the free throw line, converting 24 of 29 attempts, including 12-of-12 in the fourth quarter. Sioux Falls was good on 19-of-25 free throw attempts in the game. The Skyforce shot 48% from the floor and the Wizards shot 46%. The Skyforce went on a 15-4 run late in the second to take the lead late in the second and held a 42-38 lead at the break. Mike Anderson scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in his first start of the season for the Wizards. Anthony Goods chipped in 17 points and Lawrence Westbrook came off the bench to score 13 points for Dakota. Patrick Ewing Jr., and Dexter Pittman scored 14 points for the Skyforce and Raymond Sykes came off the bench to add 14 as well. *Courtesy of D-League
