Regular Season Round 13: Fisica - Povoa 67-60

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fisica (10-3) beat 7th ranked Povoa (6-7) in Torres Vedras 67-60 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Povoa won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fisica won last quarter 18-13. They also forced 19 Povoa turnovers. Strangely Povoa outrebounded Fisica 43-29 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Cape Verdean guard Braima Freire (188-82) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 steals. Forward Carlos Dias (197-79) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Fisica players scored in double figures. Guard Nuno Oliveira (186-89) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian forward George Ehiagwina (206-89) added 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Povoa. Fisica have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Galitos FC. Loser Povoa keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Fisica will face Sangalhos (#4) on the road in the next round. Povoa will play against the league's leader Barcelos.
