There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Basketbol Brno (6-13) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Lokomotiva Plzen (2-16) 76-56. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiva Plzen. Basketbol Brno was better in second period 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Basketbol Brno to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Basketbol Brno 43-31 including 32 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Stepan Vrubl (186-76) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and center Pavel Frana (212-77) who added 15 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Belgian guard Sebastien Maio (190-78) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Basketbol Brno's coach Josef Jelinek rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Lokomotiva Plzen maintains tenth position with 2-16 record. Basketbol Brno lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. Lokomotiva Plzen will play against higher ranked B&W Opava (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basketbol Brno will play against Basketbal Svitavy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
