Important game to mention about took place in Balikesir. First ranked Genc Banvit (13-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Usak (10-6) 77-76 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Usak 37-22 including 16 on the offensive glass. Genc Banvit brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The winners were led by Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Erolcan Cinko (188-90) supported him with 23 points. Even 18 points by American forward Larry Smith (193-83, college: Post) did not help to save the game for Usak. Guard Gokhan Sunter (196-80, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Usak players scored in double figures. Genc Banvit have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 13-3 record, which they share with Vestel. Usak at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Genc Banvit will play against Final Genclik (#6) in Bursa in the next round where they are favorite. Usak will play at home against Genc Telekom in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
