Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (9-10) won against on the road 9th ranked Giessen Pointers (5-14) 69-57 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 40-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard DeUndrae Spraggins (191-83, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Marcel Heberlein (195-90) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Jamaican-American forward Kimmani Barrett (198-87, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Patrick Unger (197-83) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Giessen Pointers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn moved-up to sixth place in Group South, which they share with TSV Troester. Giessen Pointers at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners II (#10) in Frankfurt in the next round. Giessen Pointers will play on the road against Licher Baeren.
