The game in Zielona Gora supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Energa Czarni (11-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Zastal (7-8). Energa Czarni smashed Zastal 94-70. The game was mostly controlled by Energa Czarni. Zastal was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energa Czarni dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Zastal's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Energa Czarni brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jerel Blassingame (177-81, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international forward Pawel Leonczyk (202-86, agency: Promotex) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ivorian-Puerto Rican guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) responded with 13 points and 7 assists and American center Chris Burgess (209-79, college: Utah) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Energa Czarni keeps a position of league leader. Newly promoted Zastal keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with AZS Koszalin. Energa Czarni will play against bottom-ranked Siarka (#12) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Zastal will play at home against PBG Basket (#10) in Poznan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
