Regular Season Round 14: Dunav 2007 - Cherno More U20 114-65

Division A top team - Dunav 2007 (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Cherno More U18 (6-7) in Ruse 114-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cherno More U18. The game without a history. Dunav 2007 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cherno More U18 to just 6 points in third quarter. Dunav 2007 dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Cherno More U18's 36. Dunav 2007 forced 20 Cherno More U18 turnovers and outrebounded them 53-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dunav 2007 players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Cherno More U18's players. Power forward Vladimir Nikolov (205-88, college: Garrett JC) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Hristo Gospodinov (202-92) supported him with 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Dunav 2007 players scored in double figures. Dunav 2007's coach Nikolay Gospodinov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by center Denislav Vutev (206-94) did not help to save the game for Cherno More U18. Forward Stoyan Zlatev (192-94) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Dunav 2007 have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Newly promoted Cherno More U18 dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Dunav 2007 will play against Rilski 2 (#4) in Samokov in the next round. Cherno More U18 will play at home against Balkan 2 (#7) in Botevgrad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
