No shocking result in a game in Bydgoszcz where second ranked Sokol Lancut (16-5) smashed 15th ranked Astoria (5-16) 71-52 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sokol Lancut. Astoria was better in third quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sokol Lancut forced 23 Astoria turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Marcel Wilczek (200-86) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Dorian Szyttenholm (194-83) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Sebastian Laydych (203-87) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokol Lancut maintains second place with 16-5 record behind leader Tempcold AZS. Newly promoted Astoria keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Sokol Lancut will face Olimp MKS Start Lublin (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astoria will play against Spojnia in Stargard.
