There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (8-12) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Tezenis Verona (8-12) 73-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tezenis Verona. Naturhouse Ferrara was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Naturhouse Ferrara 41-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Andrea Renzi (208-89, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American-German power forward Keith Waleskowski (204-80, college: Dayton) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Tezenis Verona players scored in double figures. Power forward Valerio Mazzola (205-88, agency: Interperformances) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Ghanian guard David Cournooh (190-90) scored 15 points. Tezenis Verona have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with N.Ferrara and Assigeco. Tezenis Verona will face higher ranked Immobiliare SR (#6) in Rimini in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
