Top ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (18-2) recorded its second loss in Nurnberg on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked NBC (15-5) 85-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ehingen/Urspringschule. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group South. The game was mostly controlled by NBC. Ehingen/Urspringschule managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. NBC made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. NBC maintains second position in Group South with 15-5 record behind leader Schwelm, which they share with Licher Baeren and Leitershofen. Ehingen/Urspringschule at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. NBC is looking forward to face BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Baskets Konstanz (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
