Fourteenth-ranked Saint Chamond (8-14) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Etendard de Brest (14-8) on Saturday. Etendard de Brest managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 25-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Etendard de Brest forced 19 Saint Chamond turnovers. Center Rafael Lopez (204-86) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Alain Laroche (198-83, college: N.Florida) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jonathan Beugnot (201-83, college: Clayton St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Etendard de Brest have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Angers BC 49. Saint Chamond lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Get Vosges. Etendard de Brest will meet Souffelweyersheim (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint Chamond will play against CFBB in Paris and hope to secure a win.
