Regular Season Round 18: Ura Basket - Tapiolan Honka 99-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kaarina, where higher ranked Tapiolan Honka (10-8) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Ura Basket (7-11) 99-79 on Sunday. The game without a history. Ura Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tapiolan Honka's 42. They outrebounded Tapiolan Honka 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Carlton Brown (198-79, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Niilo Lehtila (195-83) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Samuli Vanttaja (210-91) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sauli Silvonen (186-83) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ura Basket moved-up to ninth place, which they share with TomPo II. Loser Tapiolan Honka keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Ura Basket will face higher ranked Aanekosken Huima (#5) in Aanekoski in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tapiolan Honka will play at home against the league's second-placed BC Jyvaskyla where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
