Bottom-ranked Lahden NMKY (0-18) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-68 loss to seventh ranked Aanekosken Huima (10-8) in Lahti on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Aanekosken Huima dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lahden NMKY's 32. Bahamas forward Jamal Douglas (201-85, college: E.Kentucky) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Treylon Manning (178, college: Texas Coll.) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Aanekosken Huima players scored in double figures. Aanekosken Huima's coach Petter Karvonen used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Valtteri Makalainen (192-92) with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Jimi Koskinen (194-88) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Aanekosken Huima have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with BC Nokia and Honka.
