An interesting game was played in Burgas where host Chernomorets (#7) won against 4th ranked Rilski Sportist 72-65 on Sunday evening. Rilski Sportist was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Swingman Hristo Zahariev (197-90) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Justin Neuhaus (211-88, college: Colorado Christian, agency: N.E.T.) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Chernomorets players scored in double figures. Chernomorets' coach Detcho Koeshinov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Vladimir Mijovic (207-84, agency: Alti Sport) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and international swingman Ivan Lilov (196-88) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Chernomorets maintains seventh position with 4-15 record, which they share with Spartak. Loser Rilski Sportist keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Chernomorets will meet higher ranked Euroins Cherno More (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rilski Sportist will play against Spartak in Pleven and hope to secure a win.
