Second Stage Round 6: Quimsa - Brasilia 73-62

Quimsa finished their Liga Americas campaign on a high note. The Argentineans toppled Uniceub/BRB to improve at 1-2 record in Group F. Dionisio Gomez Camargo and Julio Mazzaro scored 17 points each to lead Quimsa to the initial win in Corrientes. Uniceub/BRB fell at 1-2 record and failed to advance into Final Four. Quimsa opened the game with a stifling defense. They held the Brazilian champions to only 7 points in the starting quarter to record a 4-point lead. Quimsa continued to stay in charge in the second term. They posted a 26:20 lead at halftime. Uniceub/BRB cut the deficit but Quimsa capped the third term with a 10:2 run to take a 43:33 after three quarters of action. Uniceub/BRB pulled as close as three points in the fourth quarter but Quimsa scored several crucial baskets and ran away for the win at the end. Diego Lo Grippo provided 12 points for Quimsa. Guilherme Giovannoni netted 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for Uniceub/BRB. Alexandre Garcia had 12 points in the loss.
