Very important is a home loss of third ranked Levice (16-15) against eighth ranked Prievidza (12-18) on Saturday night. Host Levice was defeated by Prievidza in Levice 95-84. The game was mostly controlled by Prievidza. Levice managed to win second period 32-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jeremy Fears (196-85, college: Bradley) nailed 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and international center Gabriel Szalay (215-86) accounted for 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. American swingman Mike English (194-82, college: UMKC) came up with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and British center Michael Bernard (205-78, college: S.Florida) added 25 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Levice in the defeat. Prievidza maintains eighth place with 12-18 record, which they share with B.Bystrica. Loser Levice dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Prievidza will meet at home higher ranked Komarno (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Levice will have a break next round.
