Regular Season Round 27: TU/Rock - Rapla 96-67

EMKL top team - TU/Rock (25-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Rapla (10-15) in Tartu 96-67. The game without a history. TU/Rock led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Rapla was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for forward Timo Eichfuss (200-88) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Naturalized Greek guard Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-89) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Five TU/Rock players scored in double figures. Swingman Heigo Erm (190-80) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Raido Ringmets (204-83) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Rapla in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TU/Rock have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-2 record. Newly promoted Rapla dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. TU/Rock will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rapla will play at home against TTU/Kalev (#3) in Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
