Regular Season Round 21: Konecranes - Atomeromu 76-81

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Salgotarjani (1-20) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Atomeromu (15-6) 81-76 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-10. But Salgotarjani won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Brooks Sales (208-80, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. The former international center Gergely Koertelyesi (203-83, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach Imre Horvath used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Nigerian power forward Ezenwa Ukeagu (203-81, college: Washington St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Tamas Kocsis (190-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) added 22 points respectively. Atomeromu moved-up to third place. Salgotarjani lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Atomeromu will face Marso-Vagep (#11) in Nyiregyhaza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salgotarjani will play on the road against Szedeak in Szeged.
