Proliga top team - Barcelos (14-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Angrabasket (10-6) 67-63. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-63. Barcelos forced 19 Angrabasket turnovers. The winners were led by guard Nuno Pedroso (187-79) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Carlos Fechas (180-81) supported him with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Barcelos players scored in double figures. Barcelos' coach Jose Rodrigues used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Terrence Mack (198-84, college: Rhode Island) did not help to save the game for Angrabasket. Swingman Flavio Gomes (194-89) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Barcelos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-2 record. Loser Angrabasket dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Terceira Basket and Sangalhos. Barcelos will meet at home Terceira Basket (#5) in the next round. Angrabasket will play against Maia Basket and hope to secure a win.
