Regular Season Round 84: Springfield A. - Rio Grande VV 70-103

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers set a franchise record for fewest points allowed with their 103-70 victory over the Springfield Armor on Saturday at the MassMutual Center. It also matched this season’s NBA Development League mark and tied for third lowest in league history. The Vipers (26-11) previous record was 76 points against the Reno Bighorns (Feb. 6, 2010) and the Sioux Falls Skyforce (Dec. 1, 2007). The Maine Red Claws were held to 70 by the Dakota Wizards on Jan. 7. North Charleston was held to 68 points and Greenville to 63 points on April 8, 2002. Matt Janning led all scorers with 17 points as seven out of eight Vipers reached double-figures. Jerel McNeal had 14 points and 11 assists with only three turnovers. Mouhammad Faye had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Springfield was led by JamesOn Curry’s game-high 18 points.
