Regular Season Round 16: Academik PL - NSA 87-71

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Academik Plovdiv (10-3) defeated at home 6th ranked NSA (7-7) 87-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Academik Plovdiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Martin Horozov (200-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds and forward Dimitar Horozov (198-82) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Galimir Tomov (196-88) responded with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Danail Hristov (195-90) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Academik Plovdiv have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Academik Plovdiv maintains third position with 10-3 record having five points less than leader Dunav 2007. Loser NSA keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Rilski 2. Academik Plovdiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. NSA will play against Academic Blagoevgrad (#11) and hope to secure a win.
