Higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-16) fell to sixteenth ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (6-21) in overtime by sixteen points 108-124 on Sunday night. The game took place in Shanghai. But the guests from Jinjiang were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shanghai Sharks. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 22-6. Fujian SBS XunXin made 33-of-42 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. American swingman Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) nailed a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) accounted for 28 points and 17 rebounds. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 26 rebounds and international guard Wei LiuWei (190-80) added 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Shanghai Sharks in the defeat. Five Fujian SBS XunXin and four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach rotated ten players in such tough game. Fujian SBS XunXin maintains sixteenth place with 6-21 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Liaoning. Fujian SBS XunXin will meet higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanghai Sharks will play against Guandong Tigers and will have a slim chance for a victory.
