Second Stage Round 1: BC Kolin - B&W Opava 104-58

NBL round 1 caused change at the leadership position. Eleventh defeat of league's leader B&W Opava (10-11) against second ranked BC Kolin (10-11) 104-58 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in A2. The game was mostly controlled by BC Kolin. B&W Opava managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding B&W Opava to just 6 points in second quarter. BC Kolin made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. BC Kolin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by B&W Opava's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Jiri Jelinek (203-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Jakub Sirina (185-87) added 12 points and 4 steals in the effort for B&W Opava. BC Kolin keeps a position of A2 leader, which they share with defeated B&W Opava. B&W Opava will play next round against strong USK Praha trying to make it back to the top of the standings. BC Kolin will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Basketbal Svitavy on the road.
