Regular Season Round 29: Foshan LL - Xinjiang FT 87-91 OT

Fourteenth-ranked Foshan (9-18) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (26-1) on Sunday. The visitors from Urumqi managed to secure only four-point victory 91-87. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 10-6. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yong-gang Zhao (200-82) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Foshan. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-1 record. Foshan at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Qingdao DS. Xinjiang Flying Tige are looking forward to face league's second-placed DongGuan Leopards on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Foshan will play against Shandong Bulls (#9) in Jinan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
