Regular Season Round 16: Sportist Svoge - Beroe 69-78

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Sportist Svoge (3-12) was defeated at home by second ranked Beroe (11-3) 78-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Beroe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Sportist Svoge turnovers. Beroe looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sportist Svoge's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Boyko Milenkov (194-83) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Boris Marinov (199-85) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Georgi Kunov (205-92) responded with 9 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Zlatko Zapryanov (199-87) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe maintains second position with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Dunav 2007. Sportist Svoge lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Beroe will meet at home league's leader Dunav 2007 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sportist Svoge will play against Chavdar (#9) in Troyan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
