Very expected game when 9th ranked 08 Stockholm (8-22) was smashed on the road by third ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (20-8) 101-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Norrkoping Dolphins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Norrkoping Dolphins forced 25 08 Stockholm turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by 08 Stockholm's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard George Gervin (189-76, college: Houston) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 assists. Naturalized American forward Fred Drains (195-71, college: Kean) accounted for 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Norrkoping Dolphins' coach Kelly Grant felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Joakim Blom (211-76, agency: Court Side) came up with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Demetrius Brown (201-83, college: San Jose St.) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for 08 Stockholm in the defeat. Four 08 Stockholm players scored in double figures. Norrkoping Dolphins have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 20-8 record having eight points less than leader Sundsvall. Loser 08 Stockholm keeps the ninth position with 22 games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins will meet league's leader Sundsvall Dragons on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. 08 Stockholm will play against KFUM Jamtland (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
