Regular Season Round 37: Osaka Evessa - Akita NH 66-72

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Osaka Evessa (22-14) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Akita Happinets (11-25) 72-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-7. But Osaka Evessa won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Akita Happinets won last quarter 20-16. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Osaka Evessa to just 7 points in first quarter. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Impact Basketball) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Will Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Akita Happinets' coach Robert Pierce used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Akita Happinets maintains seventh place with 11-25 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side still keeps top position with 14 games lost. They share it with Okinawa GK. Akita Happinets are looking forward to face league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will play on the road against Shimane Magic and is hoping to win this game.
