Regular Season Round 85: Tulsa 66ers - Sioux Falls S. 100-98
Date: February 27, 2011
The Tulsa 66ers used a 15-2 run to end the game to outlast Patrick Ewing Jr. and the Sioux Falls Skyforce by a 100-98 final Sunday evening inside the Tulsa Convention Center. Ewing had 37 points and 18 rebounds, but the 66ers held Sioux Falls without a field goal the final 4:53 of the contest. Guard Elijah Millsap led the home team with a season-high 28 points, including a perfect 12-12 performance from the free-throw line. “Millsap really had a big night tonight for us,” 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. “I thought he did a good job of getting to the rim and taking good shots. He made routine plays all night long. As a team, I thought our guys stayed with it. We struggled some, but we kept competing and gave ourselves a chance.” The win marked Tulsa’s fourth straight and improved it to 4-0 against Sioux Falls this season. Helping lead Tulsa (27-10) to victory was forward Ryan Reid who notched his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards. Also scoring in double-figures for the 66ers was Larry Owens and Jerome Dyson with 17 each and Latavious Williams with 15. In addition to Ewing, the Skyforce were helped by Raymond Sykes's 16 points, Keaton Grant scored 15 and reserve Sean Marshall added 10. *Courtesy of Sioux Falls Skyforce
