11th ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-17) were outscored at home by third ranked Guandong Tigers (21-7) with the biggest margin this round 130-104 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Shanghai Sharks was better in fourth quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Shanghai Sharks turnovers and outrebounded them 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guandong Tigers shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 69.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Guandong Tigers' coach ChunJiang Li felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Yang Wu (208-88) with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and forward Ziqui Liu (195-82) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Four Guandong Tigers and five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 21-7 record having six points less than leader Xinjiang. Loser Shanghai Sharks dropped to the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in Taiyuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons in Nanjing.
