Very expected game in Nanjing where 12th ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-18) were defeated by fourth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (17-11) 95-80 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Jiangsu Dragons. Shanghai Sharks was better in third quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Sharks' 38. They outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 51-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. American swingman Antoine Wright (201-84, college: Texas A&M) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Ziqui Liu (195-82) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Jiangsu Dragons maintains fourth place with 17-11 record. Shanghai Sharks lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Bayi Fubang in Ningbo.
