There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Basketbol Brno (7-15) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Lokomotiva Plzen (3-19) 83-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-68. The former international guard Stepan Vrubl (186-76) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Pavel Frana (212-77) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Slovakian center Peter Sedmak (203-85) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Emmanuel Holloway (188-86, college: Illinois St.) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Lokomotiva Plzen maintains sixth position in A2 with 3-19 record. Loser Basketbol Brno keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Lokomotiva Plzen will face league's leader B&W Opava at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Basketbol Brno will play against the league's second-placed BC Kolin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
