Ninth-ranked Tindastoll (7-14) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Keflavik (15-6) in Sauoarkrokur on Monday. The visitors from Keflavik managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 49-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Keflavik forced 20 Tindastoll turnovers. Tindastoll was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Thomas Sanders (191-85, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Duran International) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Hayward Fain (196, college: St.Augustine, agency: Strategic Sports) who recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Helgi Viggosson (189-83) added 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Keflavik moved-up to second place, which they share with Grindavik and KR. Tindastoll lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Keflavik will face league's second-placed Grindavik at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tindastoll will play against Njardvik (#7) in Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
