The game in Batumi was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Sokhumi (11-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Batumi (5-11). Sokhumi defeated Batumi 82-71. The game was mostly controlled by Sokhumi. Batumi was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 29-of-38 charity shots (76.3 percent) during the game. Batumi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Eugene Harris (188-86, college: High Point) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Montana St. - Billin) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Lasha Keshelava (200-81) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and guard Duda Sanadze (196-92) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Batumi. Batumi's coach Mikhail Kobeshavidze rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sokhumi maintains fifth place with 11-6 record. Batumi at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Sokhumi will play against higher ranked Kutaisi (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Batumi will play against the league's second-placed TSU (#2) in Tbilisi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
