Second Stage Round 4: B&W Opava - Basketbol Brno 72-70

Third-ranked Basketbol Brno (7-17) made lots of trouble for first ranked B&W Opava (13-11) on Saturday. B&W Opava managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jan Kratochvil (200-82) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Michal Carnecky (184-85) who added 9 points and 9 assists during the contest. B&W Opava's coach David Klapetek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Slovakian center Peter Sedmak (203-85) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Stepan Reinberger (201-81) scored 22 points. B&W Opava have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in A2 with 13-11 record. Basketbol Brno lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 17 games lost. They share the position with USK Praha. B&W Opava will meet at home Basketbal Svitavy (#5) in the next round. Basketbol Brno will play against USK Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
