NBA
Regular Season Round 134: Cleveland C. - Oklah.City T. 75-95
Date: March 13, 2011
Russell Westbrook scored 12 straight points - all on hard drives to the rim - during a five-minute stretch of the third quarter to awaken his listless teammates and lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 95-75 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Westbrook scored 14 of his 20 points in the third quarter, helping the Thunder open a 20-point cushion. He began his one-man sideshow by delivering a vicious two-handed dunk. He followed with five consecutive layups, spinning around or blowing past any Cleveland defender daring to cover him. Kevin Durant, the NBA's leading scorer, had 19 points - nine below his average as the Thunder improved to 19-6 against Eastern Conference teams. Daniel Gibson had 13 points and J.J. Hickson 15 rebounds for the Cavaliers. Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka finished with 14 rebounds and seven blocks. Westbrook and Durant combined for 23 of Oklahoma City's 25 points in the third. With the Thunder up by 19 entering the fourth, coach Scott Brooks rested his two All-Stars for the last 12 minutes. They spent the rest of the game relaxing and laughing at the end of the bench. *Courtesy of www.miamiherald.com
