Regular Season Round 25: Osnabrueck - Crailsheim 76-69

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (14-11) lost to fourth ranked GiroLive-Ballers (16-8) in Osnabrueck 69-76 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. GiroLive-Ballers made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for forward Tom Spoeler (206-88) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Philipp Friedel (185-87) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American forward Frank Young (196-84, college: W.Virginia) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Femi Oladipo (199-90, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Crailsheim Merlins. Crailsheim Merlins' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for GiroLive-Ballers. They moved-up to third place. Crailsheim Merlins lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. GiroLive-Ballers will face BG Karlsruhe (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Cuxhaven BasCats.
