Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ikaroi Serron (13-6) against seventh ranked Apollon Patras (10-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Ikaroi Serron was defeated by Apollon Patras in a tough game in Patra 68-72. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Ikaroi Serron won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Nikos Argyropoylos (188-78) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Apollon Patras' coach Nikos Vetoulas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Giorgos Koukas (180-85, agency: FCM) added 17 points in the effort for Ikaroi Serron. Four Ikaroi Serron players scored in double figures. Apollon Patras have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Panelefsiniakos and Arkadikos. Ikaroi Serron at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Lavrio. Apollon Patras will play against Pagrati (#13) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ikaroi Serron will play at home against the league's leader KAOD (#1) in Dramas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
