There was no surprise when 6th ranked Starwings (13-13) were defeated on the road by third ranked Geneve Lions (18-8) 83-71 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Geneve Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Marcus Sloan (205-82, college: TCU) who scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Josh Almanson (205-82, college: Bowling Green) chipped in 22 points. Five Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. Guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) produced 29 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Alex Thompson (208-85, college: Iowa St.) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Geneve Lions maintains third position with 18-8 record having five points less than leader Lugano Tigers. Starwings at the other side keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Geneve Lions will face BBC Nyon (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Starwings will play against the league's leader Lugano Tigers.
