Regular Season Round 19: Batumi - Rustavi 79-56

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Energy Invest (7-10) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Batumi (6-11) 79-56 on Friday. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Energy Invest turnovers and outrebounded them 51-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for swingman Niko Chkhatarashvili (204-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Duda Sanadze (196-92) helped adding 25 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side forward Zurabi Machavariani (192-90) responded with 18 points and center David Gugava (203-90) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Batumi moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Samedicino. Defending champion Energy Invest keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Batumi will face league's leader Army Sport Klub in Tbilisi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
