Second Stage Round 6: Basketbol Brno - Svitavy 63-65

Date: March 26, 2011
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Basketbol Brno (7-19) was edged at home by fifth ranked Basketbal Svitavy (7-19) 65-63 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Ravone George (193-83, college: Alabama) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Daniel Gajdosik (189-80) with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals and power forward Michal Norwa (201-83) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Basketbol Brno players scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy moved-up to fourth place in A2, which they share with defeated Basketbol Brno. Basketbol Brno lost sixth consecutive game. Basketbal Svitavy will face league's second-placed BC Kolin on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Basketbol Brno will play against Lokomotiva Plzen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
